From late July to early September, Josh spent six weeks in Yaruman (WA) to expand our corpus of casual conversation in Jaru and to continue working on transcriptions. It was great to catch up with everyone involved in the Jaru part of the project. The field trip included plenty of bush tucker and visits to Balgo, Halls Creek and Kununurra. We also did recordings for the 50 words project which are now accessible online – a great resource to learn some key words in Jaru and to discover the great diversity of Australian languages.
